Main Technical Properties
- Increases waterproofness of concretes up to W12 W20
and more. No additional damp proofing of concretes is required.
This high level of water proofing is retained for complete life of
the concrete structure.
- Super Plasticizes concrete mix. Increases flowability of
concrete mix from slump 30-40 mm up to slump 180-220 mm or reduces
water consumption by 15-30 % when maintaining flow ability (slump)
of concrete mix
- Controls retentivity of flow ability (retention of
consistency) of concrete mixes during 3 hours and more (even
under conditions of a hot climate at temperature of air up to +50°?)
- Accelerates the process of concrete hardening. Normalized
100% concrete strength is reached for 5th.-7th.day of hardening
under normal conditions
- Increases concrete strength by 30-70% comparing with
concrete without admixture
- Increases frost resistance not less, than 50 cycles
- Increases sulphate-resistance of standard Portland - cement
concretes in 3 4 times
- Allows to reduce time of cast-in-place construction not less
than by 25-30% due to rapid strength setting, reduction of time
of its concrete cure in forms and full exception of all additional
works on external water proofing of concrete
- Gives to concrete a property of self healing of through
cracks up to 0,8 mm wide having been appeared in constructions
during working (owing to dynamic loads, including seismic), under
condition of water filtration through these cracks. In usual
conditions this property provides the fact that even during long
intervals in concreting, joints between old and new concrete do not
leak and possible leakages subsequently are liquidated by themselves
during 7-28 days.
- Allows to exclude warm-moisture treatment when making
precast reinforced items, having replaced it by warm- up under
conditions of "thermos" at temperature 30-40°C
- Gives to concrete antifreeze properties (up to -15°C)
- Admixture improves protective properties of concrete with
respect to steel bars by 46 % compared to control sample
- Increases bond between steel and concrete not less than
30 %
- Increases adhesion of concrete by 50-70 %
Suitability for water proofing and use in drinking water storage tanks
SUPERSEAL D5 Admixture does not contain either
chlorine or other components dangerous to a cement stone and
reinforcement and does not have harmful effect on environment. It is
added in production of concrete and reinforced concrete structures and
items contacting drinking water.
Recommended Dose
1 % to 3 % by weight of cement in the concrete or plaster for most of
its applications
Period of storage:
Not less than 12 months in dry conditions.
Usage Instructions:
- SUPERSEAL D5 Admixture dry powder should be sprinkled by hand to
the initial water in the concrete mixer, the quantity of which
should normally be less than 60 % of the expected quantity of water
for given water cement ratio. The mixture should be rotated for 1
minute for a thorough mixing of the admixture before adding
aggregate, cement and sand to the mix. The required slump is
achieved by adding additional water. The total mixing time should
exceed 3 minutes. Please note that to maintain the same slump, water
quantity will reduce by 15 % to 30 %. Higher the quantity of
admixture, lower will be the water requirement for achieving the
same slump.
- When it is required to provide retentivity of flow ability
(retention of consistency) of concrete mixes during 2 hours and
more, it is necessary to use cement CEM I 42,5 with dosage of cement
not less than 320 kg/m 3 and to make concrete mix with SUPERSEAL D5,
3 % by weight of cement with initial slump 210 230 mm.
- Thus, higher will be a dosage of SUPERSEAL D5, longer concrete
mix will keep its flow ability and the higher will be concrete
strength. At a dosage of the admixture 1,5 % of cement mass, it is
provided high flowability and pumpability of concrete during 1,5 - 2
hours, and at a dosage 3 % - during 3 - 5 hours. At that, during the
first 24 hours there can be observed some delay of concrete
hardening process. However, from the second day onward concrete will
gain accelerated strength setting and on the 7 th day concrete will
achieve 100 % strength, which will reach by the 28 th day, at least,
up to 130 % of normative
- In preparing mortar for wall plaster or minor repairs in small
batches, required proportion of SUPERSEAL D5 be mixed in dry cement
thoroughly and dry mixture of cement and D5 used for preparing
mortar. Care should be taken to add water in smaller quantities and
consistency and flowability be checked before adding the final
required quantity of water. D5 will require lesser amount of water
for same flowability. Homogeneous and thorough mixing will give
better results
- Transportation of concrete mix up to an object of construction
should be necessarily carried out in mixer trucks by constant
stirring of concrete mix. Time from the moment of production of
concrete mix before the beginning of its placement against forms
should not exceed 60-90 minutes value
Applications of SUPERSEAL D5
- For water proofing applications in underground construction or in
constructions which are in contact with water, including sea water:
- For water proofing of old structures and of tunnels by mixing in
shotcrete concrete and mortar. Used in wet and dry Gunite
- For preparing very high quality concrete with increased strength,
, very high water proof ness, sulphate resistant and durability of
structure for use in foundations, piling, underground parts of
buildings, bridges, tunnels, hydraulic engineering construction, sea
ports, high rise buildings , runways of air ports and transmission
towers foundations
- For water proofing of underground water tanks, swimming pools
sewage units etc.
- In construction of drinking water tanks
- For waterproofing of new concrete roofs and in repair of old
concrete roofs
- As super plasticizer to reduce water cement ratio and production
of concrete with higher strength, increase initial setting time,
durability and for general water proofing of concrete structures
- Recommended to use during plaster works for water proofing
including concrete spraying
- Recommended in repair of buildings and structures with increased
humidity.
- Used in manufacturing of pre cast slabs
